NEW CULTURAL CITY SCENE OPENED ON BUBANJ

After several months of activities on the arrangement of the amphitheater in Memorial Park “Bubanj” in front of thousands of visitors, screening of the movie “The Harms Case”, directed by Slobodan Pesic, in this green oasis of the City of Nis, started the events in the culture. In opening words of the President of the City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, member of Municipal Council, Boban Mikic and director of the institution Nis Cultural Center, Srdjan Savic, emphasized the great satisfaction that the memorial park “Bubanj” which is located in the Palilula Municipality, finally get facilities that will make it closer to the citizens of  Nis and to the interested tourists.

Thanks to the funding of the projects of Palilula Municipality and support of the city began activities on the arranging of this space but and design programs of cultural events such is supporting programs of Film Festival, Choir Festival and drama productions. It is significant and activities of civil society that are traditionally held on Bubanj.

To promote this area, especially the Summer Stage, Nis Cultural Center and Directorate of Film Festival chose the projection of film drama, “The Harms Case”. Dependent on the biography of the poet Danilo Ivanovic Harms, protagonist of the famous Soviet avant-garde who tragically ended up in the Stalinist purges of 1942, this drama represent a strong condemnation of Stalinism. The film won numerous awards at the national and international festivals.
